Just installed on on mine, but can't decide where to locate the discharge vent, I'm really having trouble even thinking about a 1 inch hole anywhere on my boat. If you ordered one on your cat from the factory, where did they put it?

I don't have one on mine since I keep it on the trailer. I have a manual pump and a couple of buckets for emergencies. I'd imagine that you'll find that to be the case with the majority. Chip Ford has a nice write up on his project here http://www.chipford.com/bilge_pump.htm

Would it be possible to get a "Y"-fitting and tap into the manual bilge pump line?

Then you wouldn't have to drill the extra hole in the hull.
